A day in the south of France most beautiful town

Hello everyone,

"Welcome to Pézenas, a small village in the south of France full of charm. When you walk in the alleys, you can find some shops which sell handmade products. This place is very lively and it is very nice" said the charming woman in the tourist office.

As you may have seen it in my previous instagram story, I went to Pézenas. I was charmed by this city with its narrow alley and its old buildings from the middle age. This city is a real journey in a time machine and the visitor have the sensation that it is a place where time has stopped.

The city has been the capital of the Languedoc Roussillon which is a french department located in the south of france. The town was known to be a place of trade until the 19th century and also to have hosted the french well-known writer Molière. I really enjoyed visiting this place full of history. This blog article will give you some things that you must do if you want to go to Pézenas.

The first thing that I am recommending you to do when you arrive is going to the tourist office where you can ask for many questions about this town and take some flyers that could be helpful to plan your journey. In Pézenas there is some museum such as the Vulliod-Saint-Germain museum where you can see some ancient object such as tapestries or some eathernwears collections. But I can't tell you how it is because we didn't went there. During this trip we avoided the places where there were many people because of the coronavirus. Also another thing that you can do if you want to go to Pézenas is to visit the town with the route in the city proposed by the tourist office to the people who want to visit the town. In this route you have a plan given by the tourist office and some instructions that you can read when you arrived in the places on the plan. This is a great way to discover the city and its history. Then one of the thing that we have done the most in the city is going in one of the numerous shops that you have in the town. A great part of them are some french artisans that are doing some beautiful creation among them there is the traditional Berlingot (french candies) done by the Boudet artisans.

Also if you want to taste the Petit Pâtés de Pézenas you have to go in a bakery and asking them for this well-known speciality of the town.

Then for the people who are in love with the fashion you can by a beautiful dress in the Atelier Toko. I think this shop was one of my favourite among the numerous places to see. And you can buy one jewelry to enhence your outfit in the shop l'atelier de Marion. I am in love with their jewelries, such as this one :

I stayed there only a day and not a week end but if you want to stay there for more than one day so I didn't stay in some of the hotels that are in the town. But here I am giving you one adress that sounds great it is the guest room La Dordine with a beautiful view on Pézenas. If we would have been staying there for a night we would have for sure stay there. Here is a link where you can find the guestroom's website : www.ladordine.com

Furthermore, how could you visit a town in france which the cradle of the gastronomy without eating in one of the gratest restaurant in the town. If you wanty to eat something for dinner in a very chic atmosphere you have to go in the restaurant Le Pré St Jean which is recommended by the famous French guide michelin and if you want to eat one of the tastiest icecreams in the world you can go to Les Glaces de Sophie which is very well-noted on tripadvisor.

As you may have understand it, I really enjoyed visiting this extraodinary town located in a region where the sunshine is present a most part of the year. I highly recommend you to visit Pézenas is you are in the south of France.

Have a nice week !
