My tips to learn a language

Hello everyone,

As you certainly already know, I am currently learning English and Spanish. Learning a new language is very difficult and you have to be very motivated but don't worry with a bit of work and if you take my advices you will certainly improve your speaking and also your writing.

1) Speak in the language

If you are currently learning a language you have to speak as much as you can in the language. But you are going to tell me that you don't have always the possibility to speak in the language that you are learning. Of course most of us don't have the chance to know someone that is bilingual in the language that we are learning. So my advice is even if it seems awkward, you have to think in the language that you are learning. This will help you to improve your oral in the language and you will speak easily in the language.

2) Learn vocabulary

You can't become bilingual in a language if you don't know the main world of it. So my advice is in a room you have to sit down and describe every object of the room and at every word that you don't know you have to write them on a paper and check their meaning in a dictionary.

3) Watch films or videos in the language

This is one the most important thing of this list. You have to listen as much as possible in the language. This is very important if you want to understand people who are native speaker easily and without asking them to repeat slower six times. Listening to the language that you are learning will help you brain to acquire the sound and the accent of the language. For example after watching during three months netflix in English I noticed that I am way more comfortable with listening English news on the BBC.

4) Read in the language

And my last advice is to read as much as possible in the language this will help to learn new syntaxes structures and it will improve your writing. Anew I am going to take my example which is that after starting reading in English at the beginning of the lockdown I realized that I improved my writing and also my vocabulary.
